Queanbeyan Players are getting excited to host their third annual Christmas at The B charity event in 2023. In 2021, Queanbeyan Players raised funds for a local Queanbeyan family, the Loadsmans, who were fighting a battle with MND. In 2022, funds raised went to MND NSW, and Queanbeyan Players will be supporting this charity again in 2023.

The story, expanded from that of Green Day’s 2004 album, centres on three disaffected young men, Johnny, Will and Tunny. Johnny and Tunny flee a stagnant suburban lifestyle and parental restrictions, while Will has to stay at home to work out his relationship and care for his pregnant girlfriend, Heather.

QP is thrilled to announce our cast for our upcoming production of the Pulitzer Prize winning ‘Next to Normal’ in February!

The production team would like to thank everyone who auditioned over the weekend, with an incredible amount of talent on show across the three days.

Queanbeyan Players is excited to announce auditions are open for our upcoming February 2024 production, Next To Normal. Next to Normal, with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, explores how one suburban household copes with crisis and mental illness. Winner of three 2009 Tony Awards, including Best Musical Score and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize, Next to Normal was also chosen as “one of the year’s ten best shows” by critics around the world.

The QP Family would like to thank our incredible cast, band, crew and production team for all of their amazing work producing ‘Footloose’! We couldn’t have asked for more, and thank you to our wonderful audience for coming and supporting local community theatre!

If you have thought about putting on a production, now is the opportunity to get a proposal together for submission!

A general expectation of a formal proposal would be to have the Director, Musical Director and Choreographer introduced as part of the submission.

Don’t worry if you only have a partial production team however, as QP can assist in finding a suitable candidate if the company decides to move forward with the proposal.

The excitement is contagious as rehearsals for Footloose are in full swing.

The whole team are having a blast putting this show together and cannot wait to get on the stage and share it with you!

The QP Family had a great night celebrating the achievements of the past 12 months! It was a busy time with three productions – The Sound Of Music Encore, H.M.S Pinafore and this year’s Downtown!
