Stage manager

The stage manager attends rehearsals and liaises with the director about scene changes and the cues required for the cast. They are also responsible for organising stage crew for set changes, which requires liaising with the set designer regarding the number and size of sets to be moved and enlisting the required number of personnel. The stage manager is responsible for coordinating the stage crew during the show to move and change the sets and props during the performance; following the script and calling cast as needed; communicating with the lighting and sound teams to ensure the show flows; and coordinating the ‘bump in’ and ‘bump out’ of the theatre.
