Season 2021 Announced

Queanbeyan Players are excited to announce their musical theatre line up for 2021, a bumper three show schedule which will be played at home-theatre The Q – Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre in Queanbeyan: The Sound of Music (March), Kiss Me Kate (June) and Oklahoma (October).

“It is exciting to be able to start planning again and to announce a three-show year for the Queanbeyan Players is a wonderful first,” says Alison Newhouse, Queanbeyan Players President “three shows means we have more theatre opportunities for local actors and musicians and we can offer our audience a range of theatre experiences.” she said. “Queanbeyan Players enjoys a supportive and engaged community and, like everyone, we are all looking forward to reconnecting and getting back into rehearsals and production as soon as health guidelines allow. We can’t wait to get back on stage and see all those smiling faces again – on stage and in the audience!”

The Sound Of Music was already well into production when the global pandemic forced rehearsals to be postponed and the show has been rescheduled into early 2021. The cast has remained together and there will only be a couple of new faces joining the talented local cast/crew.
Notably after the unexpected passing of Musical Director Michael Politi, Musical Director Jenna Hinton (whose last QP show was Oliver! in 2019) will be joining the production team and continuing on the wonderful work Michael had started with the cast early in 2020.

Queanbeyan Players will announce final dates for The Sound of Music in the coming weeks and auditions and performances for Kiss Me, Kate and Oklahoma at a later date.
